Unveiling the Subtle Elegance of the Tonda PF Automatic 36mm Alta Rosa by Parmigiani Fleurier

Parmigiani Fleurier, an acclaimed name in luxury sports watchmaking, has enriched its Tonda PF collection with the inclusion of the 36mm Automatic Alta Rosa. Debuting in 2021, the Tonda PF range is renowned for its minimalist approach to luxury, hosting a series of refined complications across multiple case sizes. Catering to growing demand for compact, unisex options, the brand introduced an elegantly scaled-down 36mm version of the Tonda PF Micro-Rotor in 2022.

This new creation discards the date window, focusing entirely on time-display, accessorized by a subtle pink Alta Rosa dial. The design philosophy of the Tonda PF collection centres around ‘discreet luxury’. It features harmonious proportions, outstanding attention to detail and masterful finish, in tribute to the design ethos of founder Michel Parmigiani, who was inspired by the Golden Ratio.

The dial showcases the iconic barleycorn hand-guilloché pattern, a distinctive feature of the Tonda PF collection. This understated marvel is devoid of luminescence, cradling hand-applied 18k gold rhodium-plated indices, skeletonised delta-shaped hands and an oval medallion. To finish the minimalist theme, the only inscription is the ‘Swiss Made’ reference on the pink minutes track.

Stepping inside, unlike the 40mm Micro-Rotor, the 36mm uses a central 22k gold skeletonised rotor, a contributing factor to the slightly thicker profile. The in-house automatic 4Hz calibre PF770, specifically tailored for the 36mm case, stands at an impressive 3.9mm with a noteworthy 60-hour power reserve. The transparent case-back reveals the Côtes de Genève patterns on the bridges, and the Sheen is brought by the polished and sandblasted sections of the rotor.

The new icon of discreet luxury, the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Automatic 36mm Alta Rosa, retails at CHF 21,900.
