Armin Strom Unveils the Mirrored Force Resonance with a Striking Ruby Gemstone Dial

In the horology arena, Armin Strom unleashed a technical breakthrough in 2016 with the initial launch of its Mirrored Force Resonance wristwatch. This piece ingeniously shrunk the historic process of synchronised motion into a compact, wearable technology. It was made possible by harmonising two independent oscillators via a patented resonance clutch spring, creating a miniature version of Christiaan Huygens’ discovery regarding spontaneously synchronised pendulum clocks.

Since then, Armin Strom has evolved the watch into its second generation, maintaining its innovative heart while enhancing its visual appeal. The latest incarnation, Mirrored Force Resonance Ruby, features an entrancing ruby stone dial, juxtaposing warm, deep reds against a lively, dynamic display.

The highlight of this striking timepiece is undoubtedly its genuine ruby dial. This feature offsets the strict symmetry and restrained tonal palette of the other elements, infusing the visual with vibrant, varying shades of pink and red. To enhance the overall sophistication, white-printed Roman numerals were incorporated for hours.

The Mirrored Force Resonance Ruby’s skeletal hour and minute hands are meticulously made in-house at Armin Strom. Its two balance springs are linked exactly like Huygens’ wooden beam, using the innovative resonance clutch spring. They also serve the captivating function of resetting the twin seconds indicators - now marked in a ruby tint - at the click of the pusher at 2 o’clock.

Apart from the fascinating front view, the flip side of the watch reveals the symmetrical pattern of the ARF21 in-house manual-winding movement. The engraved text on the mainplate, flanked by an array of open bridges and gears, adds a level of visual depth, revealing the meticulous craftsmanship inside every Armin Strom creation.
