Exclusive Swiss Watchmaker, Czapek, Unveils New Mother-of-Pearl Dials for Antarctique S and Promenade Collections

Renowned for its mastery in the realm of horology, Swiss watchmaker Czapek has revealed exquisite enhancements to its Antarctique S and Promenade collections, introducing the natural beauty of mother-of-pearl dials. This captivating material, primarily derived from the inner lining of oyster and mollusk shells, brings an iridescent shimmer that transforms each dial into a unique work of art.

These embellishments have been expertly crafted in collaboration with GT Cadrans, a celebrated Swiss dial manufacturer. For the Antarctique S Ice Cloud, a technique known as ’nacre brouillé’, or scattered mother-of-pearl, is employed. Here, varnish is applied to the underside of the polished nacre disc using a horsehair brush, forming whimsical cloud patterns and adding a touch of the Antarctic skies’ icy ambiance.

In contrast, Czapek’s 38mm Promenade is a modern dress watch featuring slim 10.8mm-high cases. The Promenade Midnight Pearl’s dial showcases a patented sandwich construction with aventurine glass overlaying a Tahitian mother-of-pearl disc. Showcasing exotic violet and green iridescent reflections, this exceptional dial exudes the impression of a starlit sky.

Both Antarctique and Promenade models are powered by Czapek’s slim, in-house SXH5 automatic movement, offering a 60-hour power reserve. The enchanting timepieces, decorated with hand-bevelled edges and straight-grained flanks, are the embodiment of Czapek’s continued dedication to innovation and elegance, fusing nature’s charm with horological excellence.
