Dutch Manufacturer Donkervoort Unveils a New Sports Car: The Extreme Zero-Compromise P24 RS
Donkervoort, the legendary Dutch sports car manufacturer, has done wonders again. They took the performance standard a notch higher going beyond the already exquisite F22. The new P24 RS, while aesthetically resemblant to its predecessor, is almost entirely a new beast, incorporating the latest innovations this small but vigorous company could master.
This thrilling new model exhibits the passion and commitment that have been invested in its creation. Donkervoort chose to replace the turbocharged Audi 5-cylinder engine used in previous models with a new powertrain from Ford. However, this upgrade is more than just a minor tweak. The power-packed P24 RS is capable of rivalling the most formidable racing machines, often nudging them out with its astonishing 770bhp per tonne, a record none of the giants like Porsche, Ferrari, or Lamborghini have managed to achieve in a road car.
Starting with the S7, which was based on the Lotus Seven concept, Donkervoort introduced several notable models. With each new release, the company pushed the boundaries of what a sports car could achieve. When Audi began supplying engines in 1999, the complexity and power of Donkervoort cars scaled further, requiring more work to be done in-house. Finally, in 2021, Joop Donkervoort handed over the company to his son, Denis, who brings a new era of high-performance cars - as embodied by the new P24 RS.
