IWC and F1 Driver George Russell Debut Two Exclusive Pilot’s Watches: A Signature of Speed, Precision, and Aesthetics
IWC has ignited new excitement in the worlds of horology and motor racing with its recent announcement. The luxury watchmaker has joined forces with F1 driver George Russell to launch two fresh pilot’s watches: the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 George Russell and the Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 George Russell.
Cloaked in the signature blue often seen on Russell’s helmet, these highly-anticipated models serve as striking tributes to the Mercedes-AMG driver. The new chronograph and automatic watches are housed in contrasting black zirconium oxide ceramic cases - maintaining IWC’s long-standing prowess in high-tech ceramics. Adding to the allure of the new releases, the black dials punctuated with indices, numbers, and hands in matching blue are ensured to retain their visibility even in low light, thanks to the blue Super-LumiNova® feature.
Adding a touch more personalization and convenience, the watches boast blue rubber straps to complement the dial accents. These straps are outfitted with IWC’s EasX-change system for effortless, tool-free strap replacements. Each model is limited to 1,063 pieces, a reverential nod towards Russell’s racing number with price tags of $12,800 for the Chronograph, and $8,900 for the Automatic variant.
Establishing a strong presence in the F1 circuit since its partnership with Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team in 2013, IWC continues its sporting legacy. The watchmaker’s impressive lineup of team-linked editions cater to a wide array of avid fans and collectors. Now, the company’s newest creations with George Russell further anticipate an amplification in demand for these exquisitely crafted timepieces. Keep an eye out as these watches may soon be spotted at the race track, and perhaps on a winner’s podium or two.
