A New Horizon in Luxury Watchmaking: The Louis Vuitton x De Bethune LVDB-03 Louis Varius Project.

Published: 02 Feb 2026
Unveiling a marvel in watchmaking, Louis Vuitton collaborates with De Bethune, unveiling a rarity; a sympathetic clock, reminiscent of 18th-century elegance.

In the world of horology, few collaborations are met with as much anticipation as the ongoing partnership between Louis Vuitton and some of the most respected independent watchmakers. The newest offering is third out of five planned collaborations, this time joining forces with De Bethune.

Beyond the expected luxury wristwatch, the Louis Vuitton x De Bethune LVDB-03 Louis Varius Project brings an unexpected addition - the first mechanical sympathetic clock since 1991, a complex marvel of horological design.

Denis Flageollet, co-founder of De Bethune, develops an opulent interpretation of the Sympathique clock—an 18th-century masterpiece—breathing life into a unique rendition of De Bethune’s iconic DB25 GMT Starry Varius. The project brings forth a rare modern exemplification of horological art blended with old-world elegance.

The dial merges the sportive Louis Vuitton identity with classic De Bethune visual features, all while reinforcing the watch’s functional dialogue with the sympathetic clock. The final masterpiece is resplendently crowned with Louis Vuitton’s iconic Monogram Flower on a platinum crown, allied with an array of sophisticated finishes.

In all, the Louis Vuitton x De Bethune LVDB-03 Louis Varius Project represents a breathtaking next step in the compelling journey of collaborative watchmaking. Such an endeavor reinforces the potential for pioneering alliances between style powerhouses and esteemed watchmakers, further enriching the horological landscape.
