A Deep Dive into Isotope's Tenth Anniversary Timepiece: The Terra Maris Moonshot Chronograph

Published: 30 Jan 2026
Delve into an in-depth examination of Isotope's Terra Maris Moonshot, a dynamic expression celebrating the British brand's tenth anniversary.

The Isotope watch brand, known for its enigmatic models, captured attention at the Toronto Timepiece Show. Likened to popular brands such as Oris, Doxa, and Sinn, Isotope’s reputation for unique, inventive designs has grown steadily over the last decade. The brand’s founders, José and Joana Miranda, draw inspiration from the abstract realm of isotopes and popular science fiction narratives to root their designs, resulting in a delightful blend of distinctive horological style.

One watch, in particular, has managed to stand out from the rest of the collection – the Moonshot Terra Maris. This variant of the brand’s first chronograph, created in collaboration with watch journalist Miguel Seabra, boasts a special color scheme of light blue and varying shades of brown. Designed with the Portuguese shoreline as its muse, this watch paints a warmer, softer picture than its standard Moonshot counterpart.

Crafted from high-grade titanium, the case and bracelet exhibit a matte black effect, courtesy of a sandblasting and DLC treatment. While the case measures 41mm in width, the bracelet’s flared end-link expands to the hefty width of 24mm before gracefully tapering to 18mm at the double-folding butterfly style clasp. Despite its robust dimensions, the Terra Maris provides a lighter, well-balanced on-wrist feel, projecting an organic presence reminiscent of a carefully sculpted cuff. The use of slanted links that become progressively thicker towards the case adds an extra layer of intrigue to the overall design.

Isotope’s Moonshot Terra Maris is not just a timepiece, but a journey that poetically fuses iconic elements of architecture, the wondrous imagination of science fiction, and the calming serenity of the Portuguese shoreline into a luxury wristwatch. While currently available in two versions, it is hinted that new renditions will grace the wrists of watch connoisseurs in the future.
