French Brand Yema Unveils New Bronze Case Diver's Watch: The Skin Diver Slim Bronze CMM.20 Limited Edition

Yema, the resurgent French watch brand, known for maintaining an essence of its heritage through successful design refining, has unveiled yet another gem from its collection. Hailing from 1948, the brand has earned significant momentum over the years, particularly for tool watches like the 1960’s Superman and Skin Diver, which had carved out a niche in the French diving culture. The brand has now introduced a new limited-edition divers’ watch into its renowned series.

The recently released Skin Diver Slim Bronze CMM.20 Limited Edition encompasses a sleek 39mm bronze case, encapsulating a delicate balance of polished bevels and brushed surfaces. The bronze encasement is brimming with warmth and prone to a unique patina, mirroring the irresistible appeal already highlighted in other Yema divers.

The watch’s dial has a backdrop of a dark grey enamel-like base, perfectly synchronising with the faded ghost bezel. The dial highlights large triangular hour markers filled with lime-toned Super-LumiNova and outlined in gilt, reflecting the case’s tones. For enhanced visibility, this piece exhibits an oversized arrow minute hand, pencil-style hour hand, and a lollipop seconds hand, all adding to the brand’s retro aesthetic.

Under the hood, the CMM.20 Manufacture Morteau calibre, an in-house micro-rotor automatic movement, powers the watch. Developed in France, this ultra-slim calibre allows the watch to maintain its compact dimensions while boasting an impressive power reserve of 70 hours. Additionally, the timepiece ensures chronometer-level accuracy, offering -3/+7 seconds per day, and is equipped with a bidirectional tungsten micro-rotor.

The Skin Diver Slim Bronze Limited Edition is presented on an FKM Viton rubber strap with a bronze pin buckle equally prone to aging, complementing the case. Yema confirms a limited edition run of 200 pieces for this model, retailing at EUR 2,249. The company also plans to release a non-limited green-toned version, identical in specifications, except for the white numerals on the bezel and white lume on the dial.
