Toyota Unleashes Performance Behemoth: The GR GT & GT3

The racing acumen of the brand, unsurprisingly, flows into its road gems too. The legendary Celica and the globally loved Supra are shining testimonies to this, the former known for its rally victories and the latter for its Super GT wins. Falling in line with this rich lineage are the newly minted GR GT and GR GT3, which are integrating effortlessly into Toyota’s impressive motorsports narrative.

Crafted meticulously by Gazoo Racing, Toyota’s specialized division for performance vehicles, the GR GT is a testament to innovative engineering and speed. Starting from the modest Yaris to the lively GT-86 and the powerful Supra, Gazoo Racing has progressively perfected the art of making things go at lightning speed. The fruits of their labors can also be seen on the racing tracks, with the multiple WRC champion GR Yaris Rally1, and the three-time Le Mans-winning GR010 Hybrid. The GR DKR Hilux further attests to their engineering prowess, dominating the desert terrains and winning Dakar.

Inaugurated back in 2007, Gazoo Racing grew out of a participatory endeavour by a team of Toyota employees and test-drivers, including the then Vice President for Toyota, Mr Aiko Toyoda, in the Nürburgring 24-Hours. Thenceforth all racing ventures under Toyota and Lexus gradually transitioned to Gazoo Racing, thus marking the advent of a new era in motoring performance.
