Published: 19 Dec 2025
The Seiko Prospex 1968 Heritage Diver GMT series has introduced a rare gem, the SPB534 Seashadow, showcasing the brand's continued excellence in underwater horology.

Carrying forward an illustrious reputation for underwater precision, Seiko’s Prospex diver series has been a torchbearer for the brand’s commitment to quality craftmanship. Standing as one of the brand’s earliest defining tool watches is the 1968 300m water-resistant Professional Diver, which has its spirit reflected in the newer Prospex 1968 Heritage Diver GMT series. First introduced in 2023, the series introduced the world to Seiko’s first mechanical GMT diver. Over the years, the series saw several new additions, the latest being the SPB534 Seashadow, a limited edition timepiece with only 500 pieces available. Seashadow is not significantly different in design but stands out for its thoughtfully chosen colours and practical updates. The watch bears witness to Seiko’s unchangeable commitment to detail and quality with a 42mm stainless steel case, a unidirectional ceramic bezel insert and incredible water resistance up to 300 meters. Gold-toned bezel with a black ceramic insert and a glossy black dial are what sets it apart visually. The timepiece is ideally complemented with gold-tone hands, bold markers and a subtle grey 24-hour hand, emphasizing contrast and legibility. Powering this watch is Seiko’s calibre 6R54, providing a 72-hour power reserve, operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, and offering caller-style GMT functionality. The timepiece offers an incredible tool-free extension of up to 15mm with a newly-released micro-adjust clasp, tailor-made for both divers and everyday wearers. Only 500 pieces of this numbered collector’s timepiece will grace selected Seiko boutiques at a price of EUR 1,900 or GBP 1,600, a transient testament to Seiko’s timeless craftmanship.
