Latest Update from Zeitwinkel: The Classic 082° Central Second Watch Gets A Refined Upgrade
For the last 15 years, Zeitwinkel, an independent watchmaking brand hailing from Saint-Imier, has been quietly carving its own niche in the horology world. Founded in 2006, the brand has made a name for itself in the precision, clarity, and long-term reliability of its timepieces. Its dedication to the craft is evident in their commitment to in-house manufacturing of all movements and hand-building each piece in smaller batches. This attention to detail extends to every watch in its collection, including the esteemed 273° with a large date, the 188° featuring small seconds, and the recently unveiled 240° sports watch. By incorporating a refined case, sharper details, and an updated dial, the brand adds a modern touch while maintaining the essence of its philosophy in the newly redesigned Zeitwinkel 082° Central Second. The watch, first introduced in 2006, stays powered by Zeitwinkel’s native calibre ZW0102. The new Zeitwinkel 082° comes in two sizes: 39mm and 42.5mm, both in superb-quality stainless steel cases, resistant to wear, tear and corrosion. Craftsmanship takes center stage with each case made up of 26 parts, taking over 80 individual steps to assemble by hand. A screw-down crown fortified with dual O-rings ensures a robust construction with a 50m water-resistant tagging. Adding to its allure is the subtly patterned central dial plate, encircled by a broad ring for hour markers and an outer minute track for precision. The dials come in Silver or Black or, with an additional light blue version. The watch runs on Zeitwinkel’s in-house calibre ZW0102, an automatic movement constructed with an uncoated German silver plate, boasting 30 jewels and a bi-directional winding rotor. It offers a phenomenal 72-hour power reserve, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to innovation and excellence.
