Discover Eska's New Racing Chronograph Automatic: A Modern Take on Motorsport Design Under 500 Euros

Published: 08 Dec 2025
Resurrected Swiss heritage brand Eska brings forth a fresh and affordable addition to the watch market with its Racing Chronograph Automatic.

Eska Watches, originally founded in Granges, Switzerland in 1918, disappeared during the quartz crisis but was triumphantly revived in 2024 by Christophe Chevreton and Sinicha Knezevic. Capturing the essences of Eska’s lineage, the partners have skillfully adapted 20th-century tradition into discerning modern trends.

The rehabilitation of the brand began with the Amphibian 250 dive watch and the Heritage Chronograph, both blended vintage design ethos with contemporary implementation, assembled right in France. Eska’s latest offering, the Racing Chronograph, is part of the brand’s new ‘Light’ collection. The series is a celebration of colour, approachability, and daily delight.

Housing this intricate mechanism is a highly resistant 316L stainless steel casing measuring 41mm in diameter and 12.8mm (14.9mm counting the sapphire crystal on top) in thickness. The screwed case back is bespoke with an etching of Lyon’s skyline, a small nod towards Eska’s new home base and its longstanding horologic heritage.

The Racing Chronograph comes with two design options: the Racing Azur with its brushed blue dial and the Racing Sunset featuring a matte salmon dial. Each version showcases distinctive personalities but remains faithful to the same old-school spirit.

The Racing Chronograph Automatic is priced at a pocket-friendly EUR 408 before taxes. The package includes a stitched leather strap and a travel pouch, significant touches for a budget-friendly luxury timepiece.
