Zenith Transforms Japanese Manga to Swiss Precision with New Chronomaster Revival: Daisuke Jigen Edition

Zenith brings the magic of Japanese manga to watchmaking with the latest Chronomaster Revival Daisuke Jigen edition, amalgamating animated fantasy with Swiss precision.

Delving again into the world of Japanese manga, Zenith proudly unveils the Chronomaster Revival Daisuke Jigen Edition. Building on its relationship with Lupin the Third universe, dating back to the1970s, Zenith transforms an animated creation into a tangible masterpiece. Daisuke Jigen, the sharp-suited marksman of the series, was designed wearing a watch inspired by Zenith’s 1969 A384 reference, a timepiece that didn’t exist in their inventory. Zenith, however, took it upon themselves to bring the watch to life in 2019, reinterpreting the fictional chronograph in various designs, resulting in the newly released two-tone dial edition.

Echoing the vintage aura of earlier Lupin pieces, the beige dial offers a simpler layout contrasted with black chronograph counters and a tachymeter scale. Encased inside the watch, the El Primero 400 calibre maintains a bridge to 1969. This integrated column-wheel chronograph, developed and produced in-house, operates at 36,000 vibrations/hour, calculates elapsed time to a tenth of a second, and delivers a 50-hour power reserve. A nod to the character Jigen is found on the caseback, where the movement’s architectural aesthetic is overlaid by an anime silhouette.

Available in a restricted edition of 200 pieces, the Chronomaster Revival Daisuke Jigen Edition will initially launch exclusively at the Zenith pop-up in Isetan Shinjuku before being released globally in Zenith boutiques, the brand’s online store, and selected retailers.
