Highlighting the spirit of winter, Hublot presents two remarkable limited-edition iterations of its Big Bang Unico timepiece.

In tribute to the allure and beauty of the winter season, luxury horologists Hublot have dispatched two limited-edition variations of their signature Big Bang Unico watch. Known for its prowess as the first model to feature the brand’s proprietary Unico chronograph movement, new editions present the Big Bang Unico adorned in icy sapphire and a titanium-ceramic combination, celebrating the grandeur of wintry landscapes.

Debut of the Big Bang Unico by Hublot in 2013 marked a pivotal moment in horology, as the model stood as a reinterpretation of its extroverted predecessor, tailored to house the brand’s first-ever in-house movement. This intricately constructed flyback chronograph, boasting a 3-day power reserve, is entrusted with maintaining the model’s defining features, such as the sandwich case construction and the porthole bezel with screws, symbolising the brand’s avant-garde approach to watchmaking.

With a casing cool as ice, the 42mm Big Bang Unico Winter Sapphire edition is beautifully encased in unobtrusively polished sapphire crystal, ensuring an unhindered view of every meticulous detail of its construction. To juxtapose, the Big Band Unico Winter Titanium Ceramic variant boasts a microblasted titanium case coupled with a polar white ceramic bezel, drawing attention to the case’s sandwich construction and anticipating an impressive 100m depth rating.

Both iterations proudly feature the HUB1280 Unico Manufacture flyback column-wheel chronograph, safeguarded by five patents. This complex mechanism, accommodating 354 components and 43 jewels, is equipped with a silicon escapement operating at 28,800 vph and offers an enduring 72-hour power reserve. Echoing the season’s frigid beauty, light blue bridges partially obscure the movement, and a grey ruthenium-plated tungsten rotor, configured intricately as a snowflake, provides a fitting winter-inspired touch.
