Pushing Boundaries: TAG Heuer Introduces the Technically Advanced Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph Air 1

TAG Heuer continues to challenge the norms of watchmaking with their innovative Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph Air 1.

Creating a revolution in horology, the Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph Air 1 is the latest offering from TAG Heuer’s illustrious line of chronograph watches. Consistently boasting a rich history of technical mastery, TAG Heuer has brought an avant-garde edge to the established Monaco collection, combining the rattrapante calibre with a radically redesigned case architecture and additive-manufacturing technology. The new timepiece is encased in a resilient, carbon-light, skeletonised package inspired by the engineering methods of the motorsport industry. Furthermore, TAG Heuer utilises the advanced technology process of Selective Laser Melting (SLM) on a considerable scale. Integrating titanium into the structure of the watch allows significant reduction in the structural complexity while also enabling a new aesthetic for the brand’s luxury chronographs. The case comprises a unique, visible, three-dimensional structure with hollows and honeycomb meshes formed using SLM. Sporting a bezel created from solid 2N yellow gold and a sandblasted titanium lattice flanking the movement, the innovative case combines the strength of performance metal with the elegance of precious detailing. A black DLC treatment on the bezel and the chamfered finishing on the edges completes the sophisticated, technical look. Other noteworthy features include the translucent sapphire dial, gold-tipped hour and minute hands and three charming sub-counters. The Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph Air 1, beyond its stunning aesthetics, operates at a high frequency with a 65-hour power reserve. The high-precision column-wheel control and split-seconds module, alongside other significant components, are custom made out of grade 5 titanium. This innovative timepiece is perfect for the modern aesthete appreciative of both technological advancement and classy design.
