Is the Hanhart Aquasphere Ocean Fade the German Diver Watch World has been Anticipating?

Hanhart's Aquasphere Ocean Fade surprises with its innovative design, while maintaining the brand's historical touch.

In the domain of diver watches, the German brand Hanhart had been known to be quite rooted in its past, producing historic watches with notable heritage. However, the burden of heritage began to limit its creativity, until the launch of the Silva two years ago. The Silva, with its streamlined and minimalist dress watch design, served as an effective counterpoint to Hanhart’s previous collections.

A year later, Hanhart introduced the Aquasphere – a diving watch that managed to look completely novel while also unmistakably Hanhart. Originally debuted in blue, this second release features a beautiful blue-to-black gradient named Ocean Fade.

When the Aquasphere emerged, it was like a revitalizing gust of German air in the form of a modern diver. Although the brand had a diver as a part of its Primus line, the company itself referred to it as more of a “beach diver”. Interestingly, the Aquasphere seems to build upon the foundational design of the Primus series.

Hanhart’s Aquasphere Ocean Fade has a universally appealing size with a 42mm stainless steel casing, 49mm lug-to-lug, and a 12.95mm thickness. Combined with a 300m water resistance and a comfortable fit, this diver watch is a groundbreaking addition to Hanhart’s history-steeped collection.
