Omega continues its love affair with celestial themes with its latest timepiece: the awe-inspiring Speedmaster Moonphase 'Blue Side of the Moon' Aventurine.

Highly renowned for its heavenly timepieces, Omega’s latest addition to the celestial collection is the Speedmaster Moonphase. First seen in 2016, the Speedmaster Moonphase boasted of a 44.25 mm stainless steel case and an automatic caliber 9904 movement with Co-Axial Master Chronometer certification. A year later, a version with a similar structure arrived, but in a captivating blue ceramic case, earning the moniker of ‘Blue Side of the Moon’.

Continuing its astronomical passion, Omega introduced another variant of the Speedmaster Moonphase ‘Blue Side of the Moon’ in 2018. Highlighted by an Aventurine glass dial, the watch presented the mesmerizing aura of a night sky captured within a 44.25 mm diameter case. This watch featured the phase of the moon through a rotating disk beneath a small aperture, allowing observers to view the sunlit portion as the moon waxes and wanes, adding an enticing complexity to the timepiece.

The Speedmaster Moonphase ‘Blue Side of the Moon’ Aventurine provides a grand wrist presence, targeting those preferring larger watches. Significantly larger than its siblings, the Moonwatch or FOIS, the Speedmaster Moonphase ‘Blue Side of the Moon’ Aventurine surely is not for the faint-hearted when it comes to price either, retailing at $16,900. However, Omega’s exquisite blend of astronomical design and horological innovation may yet make it an irresistible temptation for those with a passion for the far reaches of space.
