Experiencing Breguet's Classique 7225: Blending Impressive Watchmaking with Historical Design

Published: 07 Nov 2025
In its 250th year, Breguet celebrates its legacy by releasing the striking Classique 7225, which reinterprets the brand's historical designs with modern twists.

In their 250th year, Breguet is pushing boundaries, fusing tradition and technology to produce the new Classique 7225. Resurrecting the brand’s pioneering 10Hz movement, which remains a tour de force even a decade and a half after its debut, the watch serves as a nod to the company’s historic designs, recreating and improving upon the past with modern watchmaking prowess.

The design inspiration draws from a pocket watch displayed at the brand’s museum in Paris. The pocket watch is one of the initial four watches featuring a four-minute tourbillon. It holds the privileged status of being the fifth tourbillon watch sold by Breguet and implements a constant-force escapement using a fusée-and-chain mechanism. Reflecting the 1800s’ prominent demand for accuracy and Breguet’s relentless pursuit of technical brilliance, it replicates the past with its focus on chronometry over other watch aspects.

An upgraded successor to the Breguet Classique Chronométrie 7727, the Classique 7225 achieves a sophisticated rebirth with enhanced aesthetics. Breguet has harmonized its innovative technology into a design that speaks volumes of the brand’s rich history. With a shift in design focus, the reimagined layout mirrors the form of early pocket watches featuring a symmetrical dial split along the 12-to-6 o’clock centerline. Added attention to the subtle hue of ‘Breguet gold,’ a fusion of pink and yellow, evident from dial to the case, attests to the watch’s craftsmanship, reflecting the brand’s legacy.
