Experience the Timeless Beauty of Grand Seiko’s New Elegance GMT Snowdrop and Moondrop

Grand Seiko refreshes their emblematic model, introducing two texture-rich variations with a modern touch - the Elegance GMT Snowdrop and Moondrop.

Boldly reimagining its classics, Grand Seiko presents two new, dressier, sharper, and more textured iterations of its iconic models in the Elegance Collection - the GMT Snowdrop and Moondrop. These timepieces capture the hearts of horology enthusiasts who enthusiastically embrace both the future and the past.

Originating from the GMT Elegance SBGM221, a timeless model with elegant proportions that has remained unchanged since its release in 2010, these new additions capture the same charm while also incorporating modern elements. The SBGM221’s delicate case design, elegant ivory dial, and discreet tempered blue GMT hand made it one of Grand Seiko’s most coveted models. A full decade onward, these elements are still admired.

The GMT Snowdrop and Moondrop feature identical stainless steel cases as the SBGM221, with a diameter of 39.5mm and a fully polished finish. But they distance themselves from the classic wide and angular shoulders of the traditional 44GS model to embrace a more elegant expression of Grand Seiko’s design. Prepared with Zaratsu polishing, these new arrivals opt for a more subtle and discreet approach, with a lightly angled polished bezel and tiny scalloped bevel on the lug side.

In a continuing tribute to the past, a box-shaped sapphire crystal grace the top of these watches, reminiscent of vintage acrylic crystals. The Snowdrop and Moondrop have a shorter stature on the wrist, measured at 46.9mm lug-to-lug, harmoniously matching the thickness of the SBGM221. Grand Seiko’s new Elegance GMT models are a testament to the brand’s balanced blending of history and innovation, providing collectors and enthusiasts with timepieces that are as timeless as they are groundbreaking.
