Atelier Wen Reshapes Watchmaking Landscape With Innovative All-Tantalum Inflection Series
Atelier Wen, renowned for its exploration of Chinese craftsmanship, takes a bold leap forward with its latest endeavour – the Inflection Series. Following the successful launch of the Ancestra this year, the brand founders Robin Tallendier and Wilfred Buiron now introduce a revolutionary collection, a series of full-tantalum bracelet watches unprecedented in their continuity and scope.
Tantalum, known for its dense weight and unique, dark blue hue, presents a formidable challenge in machining and finishing. Despite its notoriety in case metal design, Atelier Wen takes it a step further with the Inflection, building on the silhouette of their previous design, Perception, and adding significant refinements. This audacious undertaking not only increases the challenge of working with tantalum but also yields a product with an elevated luxury feel.
The series also showcases grand feu enamel dials further embellished with Arabic numerals and contrasting luxury-plated hands, reminiscent of the brand’s previous work on the Ancestra series. These intricate designs are commissioned and made in the workshops of Beijing-based enameler Kong Lingjun. The Inflection series marks an inflection point in Atelier Wen’s journey, pushing boundaries and intriguing watch enthusiasts with its commendable blend of top-tier craftsmanship and forward-thinking design.
