Elegance Revisited: Tissot Amps Up their PRX Collection with Three Distinguished 38 mm-diameter Timepieces
Tissot has given their established PRX watch collection a fresh touch with the introduction of three new distinguished models carrying 38 mm-diameter case sizes. The new PRX 38 précises are intriguing, featuring a contemporary blend of materials such as lightweight titanium and Damascus steel.
Two out of the three newcomers are expertly crafted from lightweight titanium. One model showcases an anthracite dial with a crafted waffle pattern, rose-gold plated applied indices, and hands. It’s counterpart exhibits an enticing blue waffle pattern dial with steel-colored applied indices and hands. The third model amazes with a Damascus steel dial and applied indices.
Notably, the Damascus steel for these watches was produced through a complex process that entails layering two stainless steel powder grades in alternating sequences. This method forms a dense 70-layer block, which imparts incredible strength and depth to the metal, departing significantly from the manual forge-welding practice usually employed in creating modern Damascus steel.
Promising faultless performance, a Tissot 3Hz automatic Powermatic caliber with a Nivachron balance spring, 23 jewels, and an 80-hour power reserve, powers these watches. The industrial finishes are visible through a clear screw-in caseback, providing hours, minutes, center seconds hands, and a date wheel.
Both the Tissot PRX 38 Titanium s in anthracite and blue weigh 84 grams each, retailing for $975. The Tissot PRX 38 Damascus Steel weighs 75 grams and retails for $1,175. All of these novel editions are water-resistant to 100 meters and are already available for purchase.
