Ivan Berets, a young indie watchmaker has launched his first watch, the Series 1, a reflection of his Swiss-trained watchmaking skills combined with his Russian and Italian influences.

On completing his watchmaking studies in Switzerland, Ivan Berets is launching his first watch, the Series, which draws its essence from his graduation project known as the Montre d’Ecole. With a blend of Russian roots, Swiss training, and Italian residence, Berets moulds his multi-cultural influences into the Series 1 Oscuro and Levante, offering a novel take on the classic time-only watch design. These intriguing timepieces, bursting with meticulous details and a uniquely shaped case, are mostly handcrafted by Berets himself.

The path towards watchmaking was paved for Berets during his motor racing career. The intricacies of motorsports and its close connection with watchmaking sparked his curiosity. Starting out as a hobby, the world of horology soon seeped into his veins, leading him to pursue it passionately.

Post studies, the positive reinforcement and interest he garnered from the watchmaking community and collectors fuelled his ambition to establish his own atelier. Despite the inherent risks of a solo venture, the thrill of the ride outweighed the uncertainties for this upcoming watchmaker.

Berets doesn’t follow a defined long-term vision but prefers to experience the ebb and flow of his horology journey. His plan is to explore each project at hand and let the creative process shape his trajectory in the industry.
