Seafaring Meets Horology: Baltic's Regatta-Themed Scalegraph Limited Edition Watch

Published: 23 Oct 2025
Horology meets vintage motorsport as Baltic unveils a nautical version of the Scalegraph, a standout timepiece in honor of the brand's partnership with Transat Cafe L'Or.

Baltic, widely admired for their range of affordable dress watches and robust, retro-inspired divers, recently turned their passion for race cars and vintage motorsport competitions into an exciting venture. The seamless connection between cars and timepieces was beautifully crafted by Baltic. The recent addition to their line-up is the nautically inspired Scalegraph Tour Auto 2025, which takes the illustrious legacy of the Tricompax collection further with a fresh maritime twist, as Baltic serves as the Official Timekeeper for the Transat Café L’Or, a prestigious offshore racing institution. The French Transat Café L’Or is a highlight of the sailing calendar, requiring skippers to exhibit exceptional determination, courage, and resilience. Celebrating its role in the globally renowned transatlantic race, Baltic has released a new version of the vintage-inspired Scalegraph chronograph watch. This new Scalegraph preserves most of the original features of the Tour Auto 2025 edition. Its versatile 39.5mm brushed steel case, drilled lugs and screwed pushers enhance water-resistance (up to 100m). Innovative design features include a new blue bezel insert in brushed aluminium, paired with a stunningly clear box-shaped sapphire and a sailing tachymeter scale. Graduated in knots over 1/10th nautical mile, this scale enables skippers to gauge a sailing boat’s average speed. Aside from these thrilling external modifications, changes are apparent on the dial of the Scalegraph Transat Café L’Or Limited Edition as well. Transitioning from a tri-register display to a bi-compax layout, the 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock has been replaced with a date window. The classy champagne coloured dial along with lumed dots and original applied markers further augment the watch’s appeal. Powering the Scalegraph Transat Café L’Or Limited Edition is a Sellita-sourced movement, the calibre SW511 BH. This hand-wound chronograph, derived from the Valjoux 7750, operates at 4Hz and boasts an impressive 63-hour power reserve. Delivered along with a stainless steel beads-of-rice bracelet and an additional off-white FKM rubber strap, the new Scalegraph Limited Edition asserts Baltic’s position in the watchmaking world, combining superior mechanical features with a timeless design that pays tribute to the thrilling world of sailing.
