Published: 22 Oct 2025
Aubert & Ramel, an independent watchmaking atelier run by up-and-coming craftsmen Thomas Aubert and Alexis Ramel-Sartori, has unveiled its pioneering timepiece—the Ouréa.

The annals of horology are beaconed with the names of pioneers who dared to defy convention. The industry, already steeped in rich history and groundbreaking craftsmanship, never ceases to inspire young talent to make their own mark on this revered tradition. One such example is the duo that comprises atelier Aubert & Ramel—Thomas Aubert and Alexis Ramel-Sartori.

There’s something beguiling about two 24-year-old Franco-Swiss watchmakers who found their footing in the timekeeping world at the Lycée Edgar Faure in Morteau, bordering Switzerland. Their shared journey truly began at the workshop of Luc Monnet, where they encountered Simon Brette and ventured into the world of component manufacturing and finishing. Distinguished appearances and accolades followed, including Thomas Aubert’s win at the F.P. Journe Young Talent Competition in 2024.

Aubert & Ramel, stationed near the International Museum of Horology in La Chaux-de-Fonds, have armed themselves with the capability to manufacture just about any component of a watch movement, fostering immense creativity and endless possibilities. In essence, they are a testament to the timeless magic of watches and their raw potential to craft truly original timepieces—a testament to the blooming future of horology.
