Citizen welcomes the season with three limited-edition entries to its Series 8 collection, offering admirers more intricate designs and precision engineering.

Citizen, a leading name in the watch industry, expands its Series 8 collection this fall with the release of three limited edition watches. The latest additions underscore Citizen’s commitment to the art and craft of mechanical watchmaking.

The new references creatively encapsulate elements drawn from cityscapes and the ever-changing moods of light in Tokyo, daring to stand out from the brand’s well-esteemed Eco-Drive movements. The watches exhibit intricate designs on stainless steel cases and bracelets manifesting a delightful blend of aesthetic ingenuity and technical sophistication.

The Series 8 880 Mechanical (NB6035-55H) showcases a striking interplay of grey and yellow gold-colors and measures 41.0mm by 13.5mm. Meanwhile, the 890 Mechanical references – NB6060-58H and NB6062-52P – stand out in full stainless steel and a glistening yellow gold-color plating respectively, both measuring 42.6mm by 11.7mm.

The 880 is powered by the Caliber 9054 with GMT functionality, a feature that allows for independent jumping of the local hour hand. The 890 variants utilize the Caliber 9051. Both calibers are automatic and hand-wound, with a visible operation through transparent casebacks. The 9054 offers a 50-hour power reserve, while the 9051 gives around 42 hours.

Emphasizing the brand’s commitment to utility and style, the water resistance levels are set at 100 meters for the 880 and 200 meters for the 890s. This thoughtful feature ensures that these watches are ready for more adventurous outings beyond the city.

Each watch’s dial depicts varying aspects of Japanese cityscapes. The 880 has a gradient display from white to black, imitating city lights reflecting on snow and emboldened by gold accents. The steel 890 features a geometric silver dial inspired by the morning shadows of skyscrapers, while the gold-plated 890 exhibits a geometric gold dial signifying the city at night.

Given their exquisiteness, these watches are limited; the 880 Mechanical (NB6035-55H) has 1,600 pieces worldwide available at $1,695, while the 890 Mechanical models — NB6060-58H and NB6062-52P — are both limited to 1,200 pieces, priced at $1,395 and $1,495 respectively.
