Beda’a Launches the Angles Mecaline, A Masterpiece Blending Geometric Precision and Minimalism

Since it first caught the public eye, the Angles collection has remained a crucial pillar for Beda’a. The watch’s unique design, featuring an octagonal bezel on a sharply angled case middle, is instantly captivating, blending geometric precision with a stripped-down minimalistic design. Alternating brushed and polished surfaces create an aesthetic appeal that is equally intriguing to both men and women.

The collection, famous for its best-seller status, offers an array of sizes and designs, ranging from unobtrusive steel references to vibrant, trend-setting initiatives. The original Angles were quartz-powered models, demonstrating the appeal of the design. However, there was a growing call amongst watch enthusiasts for a mechanical movement.

The bezel of the Angles Mecaline has been slimmed down, the crystal and dial recreated from scratch, and a solid steel caseback added to prevent the additional height associated with a sapphire exhibition back. The focus on these fine adjustments to the external elements allowed for the case to remain modern and precise. Meanwhile, the subtle complexities of mechanical watchmaking are hidden within the 30m water-resistant casing.

The Mecaline still upholds the Angles collection’s ethos of nothing unnecessary, all while introducing a small seconds subdial at the 6 o’clock position. Available in two elegant colours, black and taupe-grey, the Mecaline features a sector-style small seconds design with either a semi-matte sunray or circular finish against the lacquered surface. With the addition of dauphine hands to the design, the watch maintains its minimalist touch, sharp legibility, and overall appeal.

For its movement, the Angles Mecaline utilizes the ETA 7001 Peseux, a tried-and-true hand-wound calibre in Swiss watchmaking. With a narrow profile yet remarkably reliable, it offers a 42-hour power reserve and beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour.
