Armin Strom X Revolution’s Innovative Dual Time GMT Resonance ‘Tremblage’: A Time Keeping Marvel on Wrist
Armin Strom debuts an ingenious take on a GMT wristwatch, combining high-quality watchmaking and practical design. A feat of engineering, the Dual Time GMT Resonance ‘Tremblage’ utilises the phenomenon of resonance to deliver two independent time zones on separate, hand-engraved dials. This novel timepiece is produced in a limited edition of just five, celebrating Revolution’s 20th anniversary. The concept of resonance was discovered by Dutch scientist Christiaan Huygens in 1665. Armin Storm co-founder and master watchmaker, Claude Greisler, brought this concept into modern watchmaking with his ground-breaking Mirrored Force Resonance wristwatch in 2016. After three years of intensive work, Armin Strom has applied this scientific principle to create a dual time watch. The timepiece wields two separate 3.5Hz balance wheels that beat in harmony thanks to a clutch spring, fastidiously ensuring symmetry. Each dial has its own crown, allowing for independent setting of hours and minutes. The watch’s design showcases immaculate craftsmanship down to every detail. Master engraver Juliane Gfeller has decorated the golden dials using tremblage (trembling), creating a visually mesmerizing, micro-etched pattern. With a frosted gold baseplate contrasting against mirror-polished balance bridges and clutch, the watch’s design is a testament to expert horology. The reverse unveils the symmetrical, expertly finished ARF22 calibre, an in-house manual-winding movement with twin barrels and a noteworthy 42-hour power reserve. The Dual Time GMT Resonance ‘Tremblage’, with its pristine design, flawless execution, and functional brilliance, stands as a beacon of sublime watchmaking offering only five pieces in its limited edition series.
