This color, known for being notoriously tricky to perfect, has found its master in Heinrich watches. The German brand has unveiled two vibrant additions to its successful Helicoprion range - the Helicoprion Amethyst, and a limited collaboration piece, the Helicoprion Amethyst x flomp89. These timepieces bear the stylish Helicoprion design paired with the unique patterning and hypnotic color of an amethyst stone dial. The best part? These striking watches are available for less than $1,000. Founded in Stuttgart in 2020 by Wolfgang Heinrich, the brand harkens to the bold independence and character of the late 70s and early 80s. Heinrich is a purveyor of luxury, an indie entrepreneur, and a sports enthusiast. From its Taucher dive watch debut to the opulent Radiance and versatile Helicoprion timepieces, the brand has crafted a diverse range of watches. While the Radiance is the paragon of elegance, it is the Helicoprion that manages to strike a fine balance between utility and style. Heinrich’s adventure with stone dials is hardly recent as other Helicoprion watches have featured tiger’s eye, green aventurine, lapis lazuli, and carnelian stone dials. Nevertheless, the newest addition, the Helicoprion Amethyst, stands out for its sophistication especially in the limited-edition model which graciously showcases the stone dial in all its grandeur. The watch derives its name from an extinct shark-like fish famous for its toothed spiral or ’tooth whorl’ in its lower jaw. However, Heinrich’s Helicoprion, much to everyone’s relief, has traded teeth for a more elegant feature – its masterful design. The 40mm stainless steel case, elongated brushed lugs, and a curved mid-case ensure a snug fit on any wrist. The polished chamfer and dramatic bezel add to the eye-catching allure, while the 12 aligned bolts on the flat-top bezel and the sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating add the cherry on the cake.
