Union Glashütte Ties Era of Classic Cars to its Sachsen Classic 2025 Timepiece
Synchronising the art of luxury watchmaking with vintage motorsport culture, German manufacturer Union Glashütte introduces a new special edition timepiece. Known for its long-standing ties to car rallying events, the brand often celebrates this connection through its Noramis and Belisar collections in coordination with events like the Silvretta Classic and Deutschland Classic. This tradition continues with the latest addition to the catalogue, the Noramis Chronograph Limited Edition Sachsen Classic 2025.
The new model is a tribute to the Sachsen Classic, an annual motorsport event, and specifically, to the 1952 Grosser Werkmeister sports car. Often considered a significant step in Eastern German motorsports, the open-top two-seater car was notable for its debut at the Sachsenring, close to Dresden, in the very year it was built. Union Glashütte’s exclusive chronograph encapsulates the essence of this era, presenting a silver perlage-finished dial accented with black subcounters and contrasting red details.
Behind this timepiece ticks the brand’s proprietary UNG-27.S2, a modified Valjoux 7753, promising at least 65 hours of power reserve. A sapphire crystal safeguards the movement, providing the watch with water resistance up to 100 meters.
The limited-edition Noramis Chronograph Sachsen Classic 2025 is presented on a black calfskin leather strap with silver-grey stitching, accompanied by a double-folding clasp with a push-button release. With only 350 individually numbered pieces available, it’s retailing at EUR 3,600.
