The Unveiling of Porsche Design's Cornerstone Chronograph 1 – 1975 Limited Edition

Porsche Design introduces its newest addition, the Chronograph 1 – 1975 Limited Edition, a splendid blend of modern technology with classic aesthetics.

Porsche Design has added another star to its constellation of timepieces with the unveiling of the Chronograph 1 – 1975 Limited Edition. This model is a tribute to the classic chronographs known and loved by enthusiasts, but with a twist. Instead of using a black coating that was revolutionary in 1972 and made Chronograph 1 iconic, this model follows the path that Porsche Design took in 1975 by using an uncoated variant.

The modern iteration of the 1975 Limited Edition uses glass bead-blasted titanium, offering historical cues as Porsche Designs released its first timepiece with a titanium case in 1980. The model’s classical styling is evident from its matte black dial and stark white accents. This, coupled with the industrial look that the titanium case and bracelet provide, completes the elegant yet tough aesthetic.

As a nod to its rarity, the classic Porsche Design logo and the unique limited-edition number out of 350 flank the caseback. The model was unveiled in partnership with Watches of Switzerland, marking the beginning of an exclusive third-party watch retail arrangement for Porsche Design’s timepieces in the U.S. With only 350 pieces up for grabs worldwide, and a price tag of $9,650, the Chronograph 1 – 1975 Limited Edition presents a remarkable marriage of classic design and modern innovation.
