Rado Unleashes New Maritime-Inspired Dial Colors for the 39mm Captain Cook Model
In alignment with recent trends in the world of horology, Rado infuses contemporary new life into the Captain Cook collection, originally released in 1962. Moving away from complications and new ranges, the current industry direction sees renowned watchmakers revisiting favored series in fresh case sizes and materials. Rado’s Captain Cook, known for its robust water-resistant dive watches, has always polished this formula since its revival in 2017.
The 39mm stainless steel case measures a snug 12mm in thickness, featuring a screw-down crown and caseback ensuring water resistance up to 300 metres. The new Captain Cook’s external dive bezel, available in light blue with silver metallised markings or black ceramic with white Super-LumiNova, boasts Rado’s signature touch - a polished high-tech ceramic insert.
Rado’s homage to the vintage design continues with the polished steel beads-of-rice bracelets. Meanwhile, modern sophistications extend to the internal works with the inclusion of the calibre R763 automatic movement. Recognised for its antimagnetic Nivachron hairspring and an impressive 80-hour power reserve, these new models of Captain Cook dispense the perfect chronometer blend, balancing modernity with rich tradition.
