Eska, the Revived Classic, Releases its Newest Timepiece - the Captivating Amphibian 250 Green Turtle

Eska, the resurfaced Swiss microbrand, is extending its vintage-inspired dive watch series, with the limited edition Amphibian 250 Green Turtle.

The Swiss microbrand Eska may have resurfaced only last year, but it claims a resonant history dating back to its establishment in 1918. Hailing from Granges, Switzerland, Eska initially earned its reputation with its robust tool watches that gained popularity across North and South America, Australia and Asia. Despite ceasing operations in 1987 amidst the quartz crisis, the brand experienced a revival in 2024 with the introduction of the Eska Amphibian 250 series, characterised by a daring vintage-inspired design.

The Amphibian 250 Green Turtle retains many of the features that defined its predecessors. Encased in stainless steel, the Green Turtle is crafted in a vintage diver style, inspired by a 1960s model known as the Amphibian 600. The timepiece presents a delightful fusion of old and new, featuring a vintage design alongside modern specifications and an accessible price point. The 40mm diameter case has a distinct personality, with its brushed top, polished sides, and solid screwed caseback. It’s topped with a retro-shaped box sapphire crystal and offers a water-resistance of 250m.

The standout element of the Amphibian 250 is its oversized display elements, including the bezel. A wide black sapphire insert, contained within a steel frame, is fitted with an oversized luminous scale featuring a reversed countdown 60-minute layout. Embracing its Green Turtle namesake, the timepiece features a smoked green dial with brighter edges, paired with a green tropic-like FKM rubber strap.

Keeping the gears in motion is the reliable automatic Sellita SW200. The Eska Amphibian 250 Green Turtle is a limited selection timepiece, with only 136 units available - a nod to the 136 fathoms which correspond to its 250m water-resistance.
