Rediscover the Joy of Flight with AVI-8's Snoopy Flying Ace Capsule Collection

Snoopy, the iconic comic character, who has taken on several identities from author to attorney, is perhaps most loved as the daring World War 1 Flying Ace. Since 1965, this adventurous alter ego of Snoopy, climbing imaginary skies in his doghouse, engaging in feisty (albeit unsuccessful) aerial combats against the Red Baron, has stolen hearts, particularly of those enthralled by aviation and the cosmos.

Payng tribute to this beloved character, the British watchmaker AVI-8, renowned for its pilot watch specialisation, has launched the official Snoopy Flying Ace Capsule Collection. The collection includes five new watch models enriched with playful designs that depict Snoopy’s fascinating exploits against the Red Baron. This range is a unique blend of traditional aviation design elements and a cheery storytelling aspect.

The collection’s ACE BLACK, a classic three-register chronograph, takes inspiration from the vintage AVI-8’s Hawker Hurricane Classic Chronograph. The watch encased in a 43mm stainless steel case, is powered by a Japanese Quartz Chronograph, and features a Flying Ace in the 9 o’clock sub-register. When illuminated with UV light, the dial reveals hidden comic strips that jump to the viewer’s eye.

On another note, the BEAGLE BLUE Spitfire Smith Automatic, a traditional three-hander watch, surprises with a vivid blue brass dial hidden within a 42mm stainless steel case. The numerals strikingly stand out and under UV light, paw prints and the Flying Ace are revealed.

Finally, the CAMEL BROWN Flyboy Airmaster 40 Meca-Quartz watch gives centre stage to the Flying Ace, with a backdrop of comic strips beneath. An exciting blend of aviation history, playful nostalgia and modern watchmaking, this collection offers a fresh take on classic pilots’ watches.
