Dedicated to Canadian Pride: Marathon's 'ADANAC Red Maple' Navigator Watch for Canada Day 2025
The time-honoured tradition of launching a distinct timepiece to honour Canada Day by the Toronto-based Marathon Watch Company continues with its latest offering- the ‘ADANAC Red Maple’ watch prepared for Canada Day 2025. This special edition variant takes the legacy of Marathon, deep-rooted in Canada, and pairs it with a vibrant demonstration of Canadian pride.
The ‘ADANAC Red Maple’ watch, model number WW194030SS-1601, is based on the Navigator Automatic model, a first in Marathon’s history. This deviation is planned to coincide with the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the iconic Canadian flag, renowned for it’s white and red maple leaf design. This particular design replaced the erstwhile Canadian Red Ensign flag sharing semblance with the Australian flag.
The Canadian special includes a first-time red coloured bezel insert, white dial, black markers and an eye-catching red Canadian Flag maple leaf featured prominently under the 12 o’clock hour marker. The seconds hand, also painted in red, carries a modified design bearing an arrow shaft like counterweight.
Marathon’s Chairman, Mitchell Wein, highlighted that the ‘ADANAC Red Maple’ design was loosely influenced by the surge in Canadian patriotism due to increasingly challenging political dialogues with the United States. A testament to this assertion can be seen in the True North Est. 1867 inscription on the watch case, a tribute to the founding of Canada and its ‘O Canada’ anthem. A befitting nod to this robust country’s history and character.
