Introducing the Victorinox Swiss Army Automatic: A Symbiosis of Sport and Formal

Published: 25 Jun 2025
Stepping into new territory, Victorinox launches its latest Swiss Army Automatic, a harmonious melding of the sporty and formal.

Veering from its familiar branding, Victorinox, the renowned Swiss watchmaker, introduces its latest Swiss Army Automatic timepiece. The brand, historically known for its ‘Swiss Army’ watches, transitioned to ‘Victorinox’ branding, and now has reintegrated the ‘Swiss Army’ label into its product collections. Positioned as the company’s current ‘officer’s watch’, the timepiece masterfully amalgamates sporty attributes with formal design overtones creating a unique blend of aesthetics.

The Victorinox Swiss Army Automatic touts a 42mm stainless steel casing, subtly thick at 11mm and water-resistant up to 100 meters. The case is adorned with a flat AR-coated sapphire crystal, with a similar crystal perched over the movement on the rear. The movement is a robust Swiss Made Sellita SW200 automatic, running at 4Hz with a power reserve of 38 hours, bearing the time and a symmetrically placed date indicator. Pioneering in its design, the watch is also engineered to resist vibrations, making even the automatic versions of this Swiss Army watch ISO-certified ‘Anti-shock’. This is owing to the rubberized retainer ring placed between the case and the mechanical movement, which helps absorb vibrations preventing movement discrepancies and damage.
The striking feature, however, is the exhibition window over the movement, etched with a white outline of a Swiss Army pocket knife as a nod to the company’s illustrious history. The Victorinox Swiss Army Automatic serves as a testament to the brand’s pursuit of precision, functionality, and panache, revolutionizing classic timekeeping.
