J.N. Shapiro Unleashes American-Made Watch Excellence with the New Infinity Series Pure

Renowned for his meticulous use of traditional guilloché and his nuanced, design-focused philosophy, J.N. Shapiro has made a significant mark in the world of independent watchmaking. The brand, an endeavor of former educator Josh Shapiro, is based in California and initially gained fame with the Infinity Series. This collection displayed Shapiro’s distinctive “Infinity Weave” guilloché pattern, demonstrating the remarkable craftsmanship behind each timepiece.

The original Infinity models played an instrumental role in establishing the brand’s reputation. The 2023 Resurgence model further consolidated this status, celebrated as an American-made wristwatch, a rarity since Hamilton ceased production back in 1969. To be considered ‘Made in the USA’, a watch requires virtually every component to be manufactured on American soil.

The Pure is housed in a 37mm stainless steel case, demonstrating a water resistance of up to 50m. It is 8.8mm thick (7.4mm without the crystal), embodying both elegance and practicality. Opting to source the case externally allowed the brand to concentrate intensely on perfecting the watch’s signature feature – the dial. The solid caseback, secured by four screws, flaunts etched-engine turned symbolism and features the infinity logo, thereby enriching the persona of the piece.
