Hublot Unveils USA-Exclusive Big Bang MECA-10 Concrete Jungle Watch, A Tribute to NYC and Fusing Unorthodox Material in Watchmaking

Published: 31 May 2025
Honoring its new Fifth Avenue boutique and New York City, Swiss horologist Hublot has released a unique, US-exclusive Big Bang MECA-10 Concrete Jungle watch.

As a pioneer in fusing unconventional materials in watchmaking, Swiss horologist Hublot continues to redefine the luxury timepiece industry. With recent lines featuring cases made from diverse materials such as recycled Nespresso pods and Tennis Champion Novak Djokovic’s game attire, Hublot’s innovation streak continues. Since 2016, the brand has incorporated concrete into the designs of its select editions. The latest addition to this unique lineup is the Hublot Big Bang MECA-10 Concrete Jungle, an ode to New York City and its new boutique on Fifth Avenue.

In the Big Bang MECA-10 Concrete Jungle, the case is forged from concrete, similar to its predecessor Big Bang MECA-10, but with tweaked proportions. The watch operates on Caliber HUB1201 manual-wind movement, boasting an impressive ten-day power reserve. The concrete variant measures 44mm in diameter by 15.3mm thick and offers a water resistance of 50 meters. The blend of concrete for the case design is inspired by and matches the facade of Hublot’s fabulous new Fifth Avenue boutique.

But, the concrete employed by Hublot isn’t your typical construction variety. Custom-made for horology, it combines fine cement mixed with epoxy resin and fiberglass, creating a comfortable and stable composition suitable for the wrist. An anti-UV additive mixed into the epoxy resists discoloration, and the final product is treated with an ‘anti-graffiti’ finish to prevent staining from everyday dirt and pollutants.

Like its siblings in the MECA-10 lineup, the Concrete Jungle employs flat sapphire crystals fitted on either side of its case. Despite the majorly concrete exterior, titanium is used for the case back, winding crown, and the H-shaped screws. The Concrete Jungle also features Hublot’s patented ‘One-Click’ system, offering tool-free strap changes. It is sold with two different straps options, ensuring this timepiece to be as versatile as it is unique.
