The refined essence of horology: A close look at Parmigiani's new addition to the Toric line

Unveiling a surprise addition to the Toric line, Parmigiani Fleurier presents the captivating Toric Perpetual Calendar watch.

Every year, watch enthusiasts eagerly anticipate new additions to established lines. This year’s surprise came in the form of the elegant Toric Perpetual Calendar from Parmigiani Fleurier. The expansion of the newly renewed Toric line subtly captivates the observer, giving the feeling that this watch has always been part of the collection.

CEO Guido Terreni’s vision was to steer the Toric line towards understated minimalism while preserving its inherent luxury appeal. While the Tonda PF line has garnered popularity with sportier designs, the new Toric Perpetual Calendar models strike a charming balance, offering a sporty spin to a dress watch.

The latest Parmigiani Fleurier release comes in two luscious versions: platinum and rose gold. Both are available with either a soft ‘Morning Blue’ or an alluring ‘Golden Hour’ dial. Each version is housed in a compact 40.6mm by 10.9mm case and priced at CHF 92,000 and CHF 85,000, respectively.

The QP display is refreshingly simple, with subdials indicating the day of the week and date on the left and the month (with leap year) on the right. The resultant symmetry has a distinct appeal, reminiscent of the charm found in A. Lange & Söhne collections.

Appreciators of finesse will find refinement in the PF733’s familiarly elegant architecture. Simple and clean, it features two barrels in sequence that keep the movement sleek while affording 60 hours of power reserve. The PF733, an innovation of the manually wound manufacture caliber, resides in a comfortably compact format. The new Toric Perpetual Calendar continues Parmigiani Fleurier’s tradition of refined, clean movements respectful of the heritage that Michel Parmigiani has instilled into his brand.
