H. Moser & Cie. and Alpine Motorsports Unveil Two Intriguing Streamliner Watches: A Mechanical Chronograph and a Smartwatch

Known for their impressive ability to surprise and astonish, H. Moser & Cie. has teamed up with Alpine Motorsports to reveal two unique Streamliner watch models in anticipation of the Barcelona Formula 1 Grand Prix. This partnership offers a fresh perspective on collaborations, frequently dominated by new colours, dial designs, and caseback etchings.

The first model, the Streamliner Alpine Drivers Edition, showcases Moser’s familiar use of Agenhor movements in its chronographs, but with a twist. It features a fresh, skeletonized dial, exposing the unconventional architecture of the Agengraphe-based HMC 700 movement. What truly revs up the watch’s design is the way it carries visual cues from Alpine Motorsports, like the skeletonized rotor emulating an Alpine A110 wheel rim and the v-shaped bridges, nodding to the triangulated suspensions.

Their second offering is the unexpectedly smart, Streamliner Alpine Mechanics Edition. At first glance, it mirrors the aesthetic of a classic Moser, with a Streamliner steel case and bright blue Frosty Blue dial. However, the resemblance ends there. Once awakened from standby mode, the watch reveals its hidden digital functions, including a GMT function, split second chronograph, perpetual calendar, and a special ‘F1 Mode’. This mode isn’t just any ol’ racing watch function, it features countdown functionality and notifications for team alerts. Partnering with Sequent for this hybrid creation, Moser has managed to blend their mechanical genius with digital innovation.

The double-pack of these watches, trailblazers in the brand’s year-long partnership with Alpine Motorsports, retails at $70,000 for the set. The smartwatch will also be available for individual sale, with a production run of only 500 pieces.
