The Obscura by Nodus: Where Precision Timekeeping meets Analog Photography.

Published: 27 Feb 2025
Nodus collaborates with 'Beers And Cameras' to reveal a new watch called 'The Obscura', designed specifically for the analog photographers.

The partnership between Nodus and ‘Beers And Cameras’ has given birth to an innovative watch dubbed ‘The Obscura’. This new collaboration went the extra mile and patented a distinctive feature known as the ‘Exposure Gauge Complication’. This unique feature enables the watch’s bezel and rehaut to determine exposure by abiding by the Sunny 16 rule.

The Obscura is more than just a watch, it epitomizes a perfect blend of precise timekeeping and the art of photography. This steel sports watch, with a dive-style layout housed in a 38mm wide case, provides a comfortable and stylish feel to the wearer. The Obscura also comes with a rubber strap and a steel bracelet, each promising seamless attachment and adjustment.

The design of the Obscura’s bezel is attributed to Juan Martinez, founder of ‘Beers And Cameras’ and a lover of all camera-based things. His fondness for photography and watches inspired the incorporation of a bezel that aids in exposure setting. This prime feature ensures that image brightness perfectly aligns with personal aesthetic preferences. This innovative concept, seeming complex initially, is a simple, practical tool for photographers, ultimately marking the Obscura as a novel feat in the world of horology.
