Behold the Lanzante 95-59: A Masterpiece Inspired by McLaren F1 GTR's 1995 Stellar Le Mans Triumph

Published: 03 Aug 2025
The exceptional Lanzante 95-59, a reminiscent tribute to the legendary McLaren F1 GTR Le Mans victory in 1995, is making heads turn in the racing and automotive world.

One might be forgiven for mistaking the Lanzante 95-59 for a McLaren, for it takes strong inspiration from one. This illustrious car is a tribute to the legendary supercar, the McLaren F1 GTR which won the highly reputed Le Mans 24 Hours race in 1995, marking a rich chapter in the annals of racing. The car was actually on loan to Lanzante for the race, thereby leaving an indelible link between McLaren and Lanzante, a bond enshrined in racing history.

It was a notable victory for the McLaren F1 GTR, a car making its debut, winning the title for the first time since 1949, also being the first time that Finnish and Japanese drivers won. It was Lanzante’s inaugural victory as a team and the last time a production-based racing car clinched the title in this gruelling endurance race. Consequently, the term ’legend’ seems rather fitting.

In the same year, Lanzante made a foray into the BPR Global GT Series, a precursor to the FIA GT Championship, with a race-prepared Porsche 911 Turbo. It also became a vital service centre for the McLaren F1s, solidifying its connection with McLaren.

Lanzante’s partnership with McLaren took another significant turn when they collectively took the F1 GTR to Le Mans in 1995. The F1 GTR competed in the BPR Global GT Series in 1995 and 1996, triumphing both years. Once again, re-affirming Lanzante’s prowess and time-honoured partnership with McLaren.
