Experiencing the Intersection of Luxury Cars and Watches: An Opulent Display in Italy and Canada

Published: 25 Nov 2025
The convergence of renowned timepieces and prestigious cars unfolds with grandeur at Italy's Concorso D'Eleganza and Canada's Rare Shades 6.

Two illustrious events held in Italy and Canada have captured the essence of luxury, showcasing a marvellous display of vintage cars and watches. Hosted by A. Lange and Söhne, the annual Concorso D’Eleganza held in Lake Como, Italy, is a beacon for collectors who appreciate the allure of vintage automobiles. From brightly polished Ferraris to impressive F1 cars, the display honors the deep-rooted tradition of automobile love. Yet, amidst the gleam of these vehicles, a brilliant array of elegant, varied, and bold watches that adorned the wrists of attendees could not go unnoticed.

In a different corner of the world, the beautiful grounds of Toronto’s Aga Khan Museum played host to the sixth edition of a unique car show, Rare Shades. A collaboration between 000 Magazine, Marqued, and PTSRS, the event showcased vibrant Porsches painted in special colors via the brand’s ‘Paint To Sample’ (PTS) program. This fascination with color variations extended seamlessly to the world of watches, with admirable timepieces making their presence felt amid a myriad of multicolored Porsches. An event created for those who possess a discerning eye for design aesthetics – be it tinted automobiles or statement watches.

Meanwhile, at the UBS House of Craft, an engaging conversation set the stage for the unveiling of a meticulously curated watch exhibition titled ‘Icons of Time.’ Talking Watches alumnus Gary Striewski was privy to insider views about the selection of these iconic timepieces. Unraveling unique facets of horology, the conversation enriched the understanding of efficient craftsmanship and legacy, only adding to the glamour of the high-spirited celebrations of all things luxe.
