Discover the Art of Enamelling with anOrdain’s Lewis Heath at HSNY Lecture
In what’s expected to be an evening laden with insight and inspiration, The Horological Society of New York (HSNY) is hosting a lecture by Lewis Heath, the founder and designer of Anordain. The lecture will provide the audience with a deep understanding of vitreous, or ‘grand feu’ enamel — a captivating decorative art in watchmaking that combines chemistry, artistry, and patience.
Heath will share the nuances of different enamelling techniques, from traditional methods like cloisonné and champlevé to modern iterations such as those practised by Anordain. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore Heath’s personal journey and obsession with enamel, starting from the triggering coin to building a watchmaking factory in Scotland and assembling a loving team along the way.
The lecture is scheduled for the 3rd of November. 2025 at the General Society Library in Midtown Manhattan, and entrance is free. The HSNY ensures its lectures are accessible to everyone by recording and releasing them to the public, with HSNY members being granted immediate access.
