Experiencing the Thrills of Red Bull Cliff Diving Championship with the Mido Multifort 8 Two Crowns

Imagine standing at the edge of a 90-foot dive platform, sporting the spectacular Mido Multifort 8 Two Crowns watch. It's a compelling blend of horological sophistication and adrenaline pumping sportsmanship.

Who would have thought that standing at the top of a 90-foot dive platform could serve as the perfect backdrop for a watch review. But that’s where one fine gentleman found himself in late September, thanks to Mido, the official sponsor of the Red Bull Cliff Diving Championship. An invite appropriate for the adventure was accompanied by the Mido Multifort 8 Two Crowns. Although the dive contestants didn’t wear watches, the Multifort 8 Two Crowns stood out as a spectacle by itself.

This luxury watch was also a companion of the 2024 Champion Aidan Heslop who wore his Ocean Star Decompression Worldtimer. While the champion is frequently in the water, the Multifort 8 Two Crowns was the watch that stole the show. Sure, it seemed an unusual choice for a cliff diving competition, but that’s what added to the intrigue.

Integrated watches often lean towards two main styles - angular and soft-edged - and the Multifort 8 Two Crowns aligns more with the former, closely resembling the iconic Royal Oak design. The round bezel flaunts eight polished facets (hence the name), beautifully brushed to create continuity with the mid-case. Although all versions of the watch have dual crowns - one for time, one for the internal bezel - only the black and blue dials match the color of the crowns.
