Watch Week Aspen, a remarkable horological event, recently returned to the Colorado Rockies for its second successful year, drawing timepiece aficionados from around the globe.

Nestled high in the Colorado Rockies, amidst the cobblestone streets at the base of the revered Aspen Ski resort, hundreds of watch collectors and enthusiasts converged for the second annual Watch Week Aspen. Orchestrated by Elizabeth Smith Hrubala from Oliver Smith Jeweler, the event drew over a dozen luxury brands and multiple retailers. More than 200 attendees, ranging from local Colorado connoisseurs to ardent collectors from afar, all came to celebrate their mutual passion for watchmaking.

According to Hrubala, ‘Our second year of Watch Week Aspen exceeded all expectations, bringing together 16 brands and more than 200 attendees in the heart of downtown Aspen.’ The festivities commenced with a sunset cocktail reception held at the base of Aspen Mountain. The following day, attendees kicked off their rigorous schedule with a morning hike curated by Bremont, joining distinguished mountaineer and Academy Award-winning filmmaker Jimmy Chin.

What set the second annual Watch Week Aspen apart was not just the expanded list of participating brands but the sheer caliber of timepieces on display. Attendees beheld rare and special collections from iconic brands like A. Lange & Sohne, Audemars Piguet, Glashütte Original, and Omega.

Despite the mounting costs of hosting such an event in an exclusive location like Aspen, the true value of Watch Week Aspen rests in the commendable passion shared by horological enthusiasts, and the joy ensued from gathering of collectors regardless of their status. Indeed, the wonder of experiencing rare and special pieces brought in just for this event proved to be an allure that transcends the materialistic aspect of the industry.
