An exploration of the sophisticated allure of Eberhard & Co.'s Chronographe 1887 Limited Edition, a perfect blend of vintage grace and modern precision.

Established in 1887 in La Chaux-de-Fonds by Georges Eberhard, Eberhard & Co. has carved a unique place for itself in the watch industry with its innovative, technically advanced chronographs. Though predominantly recognized amongst Italian collectors and some watch enthusiasts for its Chrono 4 model, Eberhard’s chronograph legacy remains mostly unexplored by a vast audience.

In a bid to fill this gap, Eberhard & Co. launched the 1887 collection. Drawing design inspiration from the brand’s museum showcasing historical chronographs, the collection is a fantastic tribute to Eberhad’s legacy. Amongst the standouts in this collection is the Chronograph 1887 Limited Edition – a compelling flyback chronograph that combines a retro-inspired design, rooted in the 1930s, with a contemporary case size and manual-winding movement.

The dashing Chronograph 1887 Limited Edition models are born out of Eberhard’s historical chronographs. With its dial mimicking the layout of the 1935 chronograph, it embodies a synthesis of the brand’s 1930’s chronographs rendered in a modern context. The design blend of the vintage pilot’s watch vibe and the 1950s appeal from the lyre lugs encased in the contemporary 41.5mm stainless steel case, offers a dash of old and new.

The flyback complications that came into existence in the 1930s, have been utilized in the Chronographe 1887 Édition Limitée to allow accurate time measurement during missions. The watch’s design allows the wearer to start and stop the chronograph through a rectangular pusher above the crown, while another pusher inside the crown can reset it. Available in three dial colors – salmon, black, and eggshell, each Chronograph 1887 Limited Edition timepiece is a testament to Eberhard & Co.’s commitment to creating timepieces that blend traditional style with modern precision.
