The Timeless Luxury of the Piaget Andy Warhol Watch: A Throwback to Classic Opulence

Journey through time with the Piaget Andy Warhol watch, a gem of 70's opulence with modern enhancements, inspired by the legendary Andy Warhol.

The 1970s gold watch famously owned by renowned Pop Art king, Andy Warhol, has been masterfully reincarnated by luxury watchmaker, Piaget. Originally known as the ‘Black Tie’, the modern variant, named in honour of its predecessor and famous owner, was first introduced in 2015. Since then, the watchmaker has incorporated new dial tones and a myriad of casing materials, adding to the allure of these timepieces. Among its latest iterations, the standout model showcases a compelling green meteorite dial.

When the Black Tie was relaunched in 2015, it sparked industry-wide interest. This was true again in 2017 when Piaget introduced an uncoloured meteorite dial version. Now, with its high-impact green dial and white gold case, the latest Piaget Andy Warhol watch gets its stunning character. Despite its large 45mm diameter and 43mm lug-to-lug dimensions, the timepiece is impressively sleek, courtesy of its slim profile and the brand’s famed decorative gadroons.

While its design roots run deep into the 1970s, the Piaget Andy Warhol watch features an in-house automatic movement, a shift from the quartz movement of the original. This updated caliber 501P1 movement, designed within a 30-meter water-resistant case, boasts a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and a 40-hour power reserve.

Adding glitter to its collection, Piaget has included beautiful versions featuring blue and green opal dials and a gem-set bezel. With options such as a tiger’s eye dial in a gold case and a white meteorite dial in a gold case, these timepieces successfully extend the vintage charm of the Warhol era into the modern day, ensuring timeless style and superior functionality.
