Artisans de Genève Channels 60s Motoring Culture with 'Kraft Signature' Personalized Chronograph

Artisans de Genève, an independent workshop renowned for crafting personalized watches, unveils a new timepiece inspired by vintage motoring culture.

Artisans de Genève is renowned in the horological world for their highly personalized watchmaking projects, employing a hands-on approach to reinterpret, customize, and restore timepieces. Their latest endeavor was commissioned by entrepreneur and vintage car enthusiast, Alexander Kraft. Drawing on Kraft’s love for classic automobiles and design, the Artisans de Genève team has created a timepiece in tribute to 1960s and 70s motoring culture. This new watch, aptly named the ‘Kraft Signature’, beautifully fuses vintage aesthetics with modern functionality.

The personalization doesn’t stop with the dial. The ‘Kraft Signature’ introduces a complete overhaul of the watch case to better resemble historical chronographs. Reduced to a 37mm diameter from the original 40mm, the case captures the balance and proportions of yesteryears. It is expertly crafted from Grade 5 titanium, chosen for its lightness and resilience. The finishing was tailored to resemble vintage steel, infusing a softer look that harmoniously blends a bygone era with contemporary construction. Other modifications include retro pump-style pushers and removal of the crown guards which emphasize the classic character.

True to its vintage aesthetic, the watch cheers on the charm of evolution through a copper bezel intended to develop its own patina over time, mimicking classical automobiles’ aged metal components. The bracelet is a reinvention itself, crafted from brushed and polished Grade 5 titanium matching the case, with a riveted construction inspired by bracelet designs of the 1970s.

Artisans de Genève’s ‘Kraft Signature’ is more than a personalized chronograph. It’s a symbol of man’s romance with machines and a testament to the enduring appeal of vintage aesthetics in a fast-paced, modern world.
