Cutting his teeth in the National Watch and Clock Museum archives, he quickly distinguished himself as a specialist at Christie’s, sharing his intricate knowledge with aficionados like Eric Clapton. Each piece, from the $740 eBay ring watch housing an Audemars Piguet movement to the platinum AP made for the New York World’s Fair in 1938, represents an essential chapter in his journey. Now, venturing independently, Friedman has launched Pattern Recognition, a watchmaking venture echoing the concept that initially set him down this fascinating path two decades ago.
