Atelier Wen Explores Cultural Heritage and Modern Watchmaking with its Millésime 2025 Perception Collection.
Paving an innovative path that melds the art of traditional Chinese crafts with modern watchmaking, Atelier Wen presents the Millésime 2025 Perception. Crafted by the creative duo Robin Tallendier and Wilfried Buiron, Atelier Wen has carved an identity in the design arena by combining elements from different genres - from architecture to contemporary craftsmanship. The Perception range, a sports watch with an integrated bracelet, stands as the brand’s heart and the Millésime series buttresses this identity with a unique feature - an annual, community-centric component. This intriguing facet lets Atelier Wen venture with new materials and ideas in a confined yet reachable setup. The inaugural update to the Millésime series is the 2025 edition, Perception (Xuán), succeeding the 2024 release that featured titanium and a purple dial. The latest release gives center-stage to a fresh dial material, natural pietersite, inspired by mountain-water landscape gardens. Precision-crafted from 904L stainless steel, the 2025 edition’s case mirrors the Perception collection’s iconic construction. It boasts a sleek profile with a diameter of 40mm, lug-to-lug measurement of 47mm, and a thickness of just 9.4mm, including the crystal. It sports a double-domed sapphire crystal with extensive anti-reflective coating and a semi-display back, embellished with a hammered texture and Atelier Wen’s classic stone lion motif. The dial is a showstopper, featuring a four-layered structure that forges the Perception (Xuán) edition’s highlight. Sporting swirling patterns in deep blue-black hues contrasted with gold and brown, it is as dynamic and layered as any classical mountain-water garden. The inherent difficulties of working with pietersite result in a dial painstakingly handcrafted and polished across two provinces. The Millésime 2025 Perception runs on a customised Dandong Peacock SL1588A automatic movement, offering a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. An integrated bracelet, made from 904L stainless steel, comes with a proprietary micro-adjustment and quick-release spring bars. The Millésime 2025 Perception (Xuán) Pietersite is accessible from 28 January to 6 February 2026, with delivery of the first 225 pieces expected in Q2 2026 and subsequent orders planned for Q4 2026.
